Gorin, Missouri-based Dale Musgrove has been in operation as Dale Musgrove Trucking LLC since 1988.
Early on in his career, he hauled grain and fertilizer, then in 1993, he added a second truck and started hauling over-the-road for a food distributor out of Illinois to California and back, doing that for 20 years until 2013.
After spending the last nine years away from trucking to focus on his farming operation, he’s getting back into trucking hauling mostly John Deere machinery to the West Coast with this the 2022 Peterbilt 389 featured in the video above, which he showed at the 2022 Shell Rotella SuperRigs truck show in Branson, Missouri, last month.
Among custom additions to the truck are extra lights, a new front bumper and new fenders. The interior, for now, is still stock, but Musgrove plans to add more lights and a sound system down the line.
Musgrove said that while the current economic environment is making business difficult for many owner-operators, the niche market his company serves has helped keep rates at a reasonable level. He also said he's working toward getting some direct contract freight, which he said will also help with the cost of fuel.
