Emergency Window Guard Removal

Step #1: Locate And Press Both Spring Release Buttons
On each end of the window guard there is a spring release button identified by a sticker on the guard. Push both of the buttons down.

Step #2: Grasp Both Sides And Pull Grids Together
With spring release buttons pressed down, grasp both sides and pull grids toward the center until grid is removed from both side posts. The grid can also be removed from 1 side post at a time, as long as the spring release button on that side is pressed down.

Step #3: Compress Grid And Remove From Window
Once grid is removed from both side posts, compress the telescoping tubes and remove the guard from the window. The window is now free for emergency egress use.

To reinstall the window guard, press down spring release buttons, push grid ends into matching side posts as far as they will go and release buttons. Always check to make sure that the guard is locked in place after reinstalling. This is done by pulling each end of the grid towards the center without pressing the spring release buttons. The grid must not slide out of side posts with spring buttons up.
